Honda stopped production of Monkey

Honda Decided to stop production of the Honda Monkey or often called the Z50, it will begin in August 2017. It is also delivered directly by Chiaki Kato, namely as a resident of Honda Motor of Japan on the sidelines of a press conference at the Tokyo Motorcycle Show 2017.

According to Chiaki Kato, Monkey Since the first generation, Z50M sold in 1967, this model has been present for 50 years. With an attractive design and a machine for half a century, making us re-produce the 50th edition being the last model, he said.

Kato explained, Honda was forced to stop production of Monkey as they relate to technology and cost efficiency. Starting in 2017, Honda will produce the motorcycle in accordance with the rules of the European exhaust emissions.

"The model that we produce will have strict emission regulations. Enough to pass through three stages of European emission regulations will be very difficult that eventually led to the decision to stop the Monkey, "he said.

Previously, early March yesterday, Honda launched a special edition anniversary of the Honda Monkey 50th Anniversary for the Japanese market and is sold only 1,800 units. Not unexpectedly this is the model 'ultimate' before euthanized.

Although the Monkey will stop production, Honda probably not going to leave their mini motorcycle history. As is known, in Europe, October 2016 patent 'Monkey 125' has been leaked. It would be the successor to the Monkey.

Honda is still shut, but motorcycles are still a concept is actually already appeared in 2016 IMOS ago as the Honda Monkey Concept at booth Astra Honda Motor (AHM). So there will be a successor Monkey? Let's wait and see.
