Piaggio Fly 150 3V and Fly 50 4V For USA Market


Piaggio Fly 150 3V and Fly 40 4V has been launched, and will go on sale in the United States. The previous two scooter models ever shown at the EICMA Show 2012. Piaggio Fly 150cc engine technology with already use three valves (two suction valves and one exhaust valve) to improve fuel efficiency and maintenance costs are more economical and servicing schedule twice as long.

Piaggio also claims that the engine power is increased to 12.1 hp at 7000 rpm and torque of 9.6 ft-lb at 6000 rpm. This is an increase of Fly 150 two valve engine that is only capable of producing a maximum power of 11.6 hp at 7750 rpm and torque of 8.5 ft-lb at 6000 rpm.

The 150cc engine also feels extra special as it gets 24cc when compared to similar models in the European market which has a 126cc engine. Therefore, Fly 150 3V considered more competitive because it meets the minimum requirements is allowed engine capacity cruising down the freeway in some U.S. states.

While Fly 50 4V is intended for use in the city, using a 49cc engine with four-valve technology, which can produce maximum power 4.6 hp at 9500 rpm and torque of 2.8 ft-lb at 8000 rpm

Both scooters have similar dimensions, with a saddle height of 29.9 inches from the ground, using 32mm telescopic fork and single suspension 73 mm at the rear. These scooters are also both have ample luggage space, and can store two helmets as well. The price offered for Piaggio Fly 150 3V is $ 2,899, while the Fly 50 4V is priced at $ 2,199.
